Ken Mueller

Commander's Bio

 

Commander Mueller was born in Brenham, Texas July 25, 1948.  He attended and graduated from Blinn College in 1969 and received a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Sam Houston State University in 1970.  He served in the United States Army Security Agency from 1971-1974.  After receiving an honorable discharge, he was employed at Brenham State School, Texas Department of Mental Health and Retardation, retiring in 1999 as Chief Financial Officer.  He is currently employed as a County Veterans' Service Officer for Washington County since January 2000.  He is a PUFL member of the American Legion.  Commander Mueller and his wife Janis have two children, Scotty and Dana, and 3 grandchildren, Jackson, Jared, and Jase.

 

His American Legion experience begins as Sgt-At-Arms, Finance Officer, Vice-Commander and Commander of his Post in Brenham, Texas.  In the District, he has held positions as Finance Officer, Vice Commander, Commander, and Oratorical Chairman.  He served as the Americanism Chairman for the Third Division.  At Department, he served on the Legislative Council, and was the Department Treasurer from 2005 to 2010.  He was a member of the National Legislative Council, National Security Council, Membership & Post Activities committee from 2004 to 2010.  He also served as the Aide to the National Commander John Brieden from 2003-2004.

 

Commander Mueller has been active in his community having served in many leadership capacities to name a few, Aid Association for Lutherans, Lutheran Social Services of Texas, Volunteer Services Council of Brenham State School, Central Washington County Water Supply Corporation, member of the State Board of Orthotics and Prosthetics, etc.  He is also active in his church having served in many leadership roles at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brenham.
